Breast Lift Surgery to Restore Firm, Youthful Breasts in Turkey

A breast lift is typically performed under general anesthesia, and the procedure can last between 1 to 3 hours, depending on the extent of the surgery. The surgeon will make incisions, usually around the areola, and in some cases, vertically or horizontally on the breast. The excess skin is removed, and the remaining tissue is tightened. The nipples are repositioned to a more youthful height, and the areolas may also be resized if necessary.

There are different incision patterns used during the surgery:

Circumareolar Incision: This involves an incision around the areola and is ideal for mild sagging.

A vertical incision extends from the areola to the crease beneath the breast and is used for moderate sagging.

This is the most common approach for severe sagging and involves an incision around the areola, down the breast, and along the breast fold.

The choice of incision will depend on the degree of sagging and the patient’s specific needs.

Recovery After Breast Lift Surgery

The recovery process after a breast lift typically takes a few weeks, though the full results may take several months to become apparent. Here’s what you can expect during the recovery period:

You will be monitored in a recovery room after surgery. Some discomfort, swelling, and bruising are common but can be managed with pain medications.

Rest is essential during the first few days, and you will be asked to wear a surgical bra or support garment to minimize swelling and support your breasts.

Swelling and bruising will begin to subside, and most patients can return to light activities. You should avoid lifting heavy objects and strenuous exercise for at least 4 to 6 weeks.

It may take several months for the final results to become visible as swelling fully subsides. During this time, your breast tissue will settle into its new position.

Breast Lift vs. Breast Augmentation: What’s the Difference?

While both breast lift and breast augmentation procedures aim to improve the appearance of the breasts, they are different surgeries with distinct goals:

Breast Lift: Focuses on lifting and reshaping sagging breasts. It doesn’t necessarily increase volume unless combined with implants.

Breast Augmentation: Focuses on increasing the size and fullness of the breasts using implants or fat transfer, but it does not address sagging.

In some cases, both procedures can be combined to achieve a fuller, more youthful look while also lifting and shaping the breasts.
